It wasn’t in our plans to create our company in 2014, and yet...
I was a mid-wife and my husband was the head of customer services for multinational corporations. I was also a consumer following perfume and cosmetic trends and I had absolutely no idea about what they were made of or what they were doing to my skin.
Everything changed in 2013 when my son Oliver developed eczema on his legs. I didn’t want to follow the doctor’s advise, especially if I could avoid applying cortisone. My experience as a mid-wife, which taught me to juggle between natural and medical solutions, led me searching for an alternative.

Our first treatment, the Calming Butter
After many hours of studying, surfing the web, reading and collecting all the information I could find on oils and butters, a solution started to take shape. My husband, Dennis, is originally from the Caribbean, and skin care there is often based on Shea butter or Cacao butter. These are the elements we used to created our very first care product, the Calming Butter.
The results were impressive, we treated our son’s eczema in 3 months.
At the time, I was still using “conventional” products on my skin and so I was developing skin problems. In my case it was a small case of perioral dermatitis diagnosed by my dermatologist. He had prescribed me a long-term treatment with medications and creams to apply. As Oliver had reacted so well to a natural treatment, I started looking into the problem of dermatitis and I applied my new knowledge. Once again, I saw excellent results, I was treated in just a few weeks and I never bought conventional products for my skin again.

When our company was being created we were called M&O Naturel, inspired by the names of our children, Molly and Oliver. In 2021, we became éméo. Same founders, same formulas, same ethics, just a brand new name!

Plant-based oils have become our new passion
With this mission in mind I went to learn more about plant-based oils and cosmetic formulation in France and my husband went to England to learn about regulations and formulations.
Our family was perfect for testing formulations:
- My son’s eczema;
- My perioral dermatitis;
- My daughter had developed Hashimoto’s thyroiditis which also has an effect on her skin and in her particular case she had outbursts of seborrheic dermatitis, as well as becoming a teenager and all the skin imperfections that this entails;
- Dennis is the only lucky one who doesn’t have any issues but he is still happy to be able to take care of his dry skin;
- My mother was also delighted to be our guinea pig for our mature skin products!
Plant-based oils have become our new passion. The aim of everything we do is to help you find solutions, because seeing the improvements in your skin and the smile on your face gives us huge satisfaction!

We started with plastic containers and have now moved towards bottles made of anti-UV glass.
We also added the baby range with aluminum bottles.
The environmentally-friendly aspect was at the heart of the development of our brand.

- They have been organically certified since October 2020
- You will only find two synthetic but “nature-like” ingredients, Potassium Sorbate and Sodium Benzoate, as preservatives in our hydrolats, all of the other ingredients and natural and/or organic
- We are certified Swiss Made and we choose Swiss companies as often as we can

- Our outer packaging is made of FSC cardboard
- None of our products are tested on animals
- They do not contain palm oil or its derivatives
