Why choose a silk pillowcase for your skin and hair?

Approximately 99.9% of the population sleeps on cotton pillowcases. The problem with cotton is that it doesn't glide smoothly, and the fabric continuously rubs and tugs on the delicate parts of your face and neck.

Properties of silk

Silk contains 18 amino acids and natural proteins that nourish your skin and hair. It is an organic and natural material.

Silk is naturally hypoallergenic and antibacterial, making it suitable for people with skin irritations, allergies, asthma, or excessive sweating.

Silk is also thermoregulating. It keeps you warm in winter and cool in summer.

What is "Momme"?

You may have heard of 'momme' when purchasing silk items. Momme is the unit of weight per square meter of silk fabric. The higher the momme number, the thicker and more durable the silk fabric. Momme ranges from 10mm (thinner) to 25mm, and our pillowcases are made from superior 22mm silk for their strength and effectiveness on hair and skin.

Care instructions

Washing:

• Hand wash: Water temperature should be below 30 degrees Celsius.
• Machine wash: Use the silk/wool or gentlest setting at 30 degrees Celsius.
• Do not wash silk with bleach-containing detergent or powdered detergent. Prefer liquid detergent.
• Silk detergent is recommended.
• Do not use bleach. 

Drying

Do not wring silk products. Instead, roll them in a towel and lay them flat on a dry towel.

NEVER dry silk products in a dryer, under direct sunlight, or on a radiator.

Ironing

Iron silk inside out at a low temperature or use a cloth to protect it.
